What will you miss most about high school?

<p>For all those seniors heading off to College this year, what will you miss most about your high school and high school life in general? And what at you high school makes you grateful to finally be leaving? </p>

<p>Me:
I'll miss the campus. Construction on a new building just finished and it is absolutely fabulous. we have one of the most gorgeous high school campuses I've ever seen. I'll miss my friends and certain teachers. I'll miss the closeness and that "community" feeling. </p>

<p>I definitely WILL NOT miss the disgusting bathrooms, the immature people, the gangsters and all the punks who thing they're "too cool for school." I'm most looking forward to being around a mature crowd in college.</p>

<p>I'll miss my friends and teachers. I'll miss easy ways to get good grades. I'll miss my mom doing my laundry and making breakfast.</p>

<p>I will not miss waking up early, the block schedule, being forced to take subjects I hate, driving my brother to school 2 times a day every single day, cliques, the lack of sense of 'closeness and that community feeling', stupid things kids do that almost kill them,...um, let's say I just don't like high school.</p>

<p>yes, waking up early should have been in my list of things i wont miss. God, i hate that. I'm so not a mornign person. In college i'll schedule all my classes to start AFTER 11 am lol</p>

<p>masha this is a cool thread</p>

<p>Will Miss
the track team (we're really close), the friends i have made, the amazing teachers (particularly my english, math, and UShistory teachers this year, and my latin teacher last year), being driven to school (thanks mom! lol), being the smartest in math (there are going to be smart people like me in college, my parents say.... wonder what that'll be like... LOL jkjk ppl in my HS are smart too :D), </p>

<p>Will not miss
-HOMEWORK AND COLLATERALS!!! it is said that my school gives more work than you get in college. i doubt thats the case for where i want to go (cooper union or another engineering school).. but still it is a LOT. and collaterals are my school's word for ULTRA MEGA BIG PAPERS that its poor students have to write for each class (for english its 3 collaterals per term!! ahhhh)
-running in gym (i love running, but not in the middle of the day when i get all sweaty.. ewww)
-certain people/teachers who i wish to never see again, ever!!!
-what hairypotty said, "being forced to take subjects I hate"
-US History Homework #29, which i am supposed to be doing right now lol</p>

<p>What I will miss
- A FREE EDUCATION
- Band
- certain friends</p>

<p>What I WON'T miss
- EVERYTHING minus the three thing I listed above lol (Yea it's THAT bad)</p>

<p>I will miss everything that I loved.</p>

<p>I will not miss anything that I hated.</p>

<p>Good idea for a thread!</p>

<p>Will miss:
*my friends + everything that goes with them... our IB parties, going for tea, lunch on wednesdays, personal jokes, band camp (yes, I said it!), and definetly the Love KGB, MUN, band, choir + other clubs
*small classes and knowing everybody in them
*TOK (best discussions ever)
*being on the top in MUN (I've done the most conferences of anybody at my school, and thus get first priority with country assignments. Being Cuba and Israel is a lot cooler than being Bahrain... ohh freshman year is special... this year they got Sao Tome, which I admit I had never heard of previously!)
*my school's prime downtown location (except if I go to McGill I get an even better one.... :D downtown Montreal beats my hometown by far!)
*MUN and band trips
*IB "study spares" </p>

<p>Will not miss:
*the catty girls on my field hockey team
*IB chem.... :D (and that one scary teacher)
*a general lack of spirit in the student body
*having to wake up to the sound of an out of tune piccolo-oboe duet and then having said picc player complaining about not getting enough solos when she already has two (he gave away the best flute one so far, so I'm waiting out for our post-festival pieces... I haven't had one yet this year)
*private music lessons... I've found that both groups and solo jamming are way more fun and productive. Why listen to somebody yell at me about my priorities (ie. school and not practicing for my music exams), when I can do music on my own and have more fun anyways!</p>

-no snow days
-boring, dull classes
-teachers who don't know what they are talking about/teaching
-little annoying junior school kids
-Tanzania assemblies

-the Imbiss</p>

<p>But I am looking to get away from high school. My school is too small- we only have 90 seniors, so unfortunately everyone knows everyone else and everything about them. I can't wait to get away and get to college.</p>

<p>Free Education.</p>

<p>Amen.</p>

<p>The free-ness (aside from property taxes, of course, which are independent of whether you have kids in the school system) I won't disagree with, but I'm rather doubtful that anything resembling "education" goes on most days I'm in school.</p>

<p>i'll miss my friends... i mean over the course of high school, i've always had friends, and been able to make new friends through my old friends, but now, i'm just like starting out with no friends... i have no idea how i'm going to handle that. and i'll miss my parents doing a lot of stuff for me.</p>

<p>Will Miss:
The awesome friends I made over the past 3 years
Realizing that my school's tuition is cheap
My boyfriend
2-hour delays and snow days
A lot of teachers especially the ladies in the office </p>

<p>Will not miss:
Everyone else that isn't my friend...basically, immature people because i try to be friends with everyone
Waking up early
Immature fights
Getting pushed by underclassmen in the hallway because you are smaller...pshhh
Long Lunch lines...even though I bring a lunch
Stupid finger print scanner to let you into school
Rumors
Getting up early...

<p>EDIT: Will miss my mom waking me up for school everyday :(</p>

<p>ha, i'm the only one here who won't be missing my friends? lol. i love starting fresh.</p>

<p>Same here...I never had any to begin with!
And I will not miss a thing from high school...in fact, if I could, I would attempt to go to college internationally so I never have to see one of my classmates again.</p>

<p>Will miss:
-My friends
-Mom's cooking :P
-Ability to walk places
-Having laundry done for me</p>

<p>Will not miss:
-Ignorant people
-Kids who come in monday and talk non-stop about either how drunk they got, what drugs they did, or what girls they did.
-NJ weather
-My very small-town Irish/Italian Catholic Community</p>

<p>I'm eager to go to college :)</p>
