Would a college like uchicago feel that my scores are too risky to consider for admission?
English is my second language. I am an international applicant from ethiopia( a country located is east africa). Will they take that into consideration is assessing my CR and W scores?
I feel like SAT scores are very important for uchicago. Do I even stand a chance?
PS. I a have a solid academic performance.(4.0 gpa)
If you have no hooks yes that score is kinda low for UChicago but it isn’t dreadful in anyway and I say if your app is solid in a lot of other places you would still have a chance. If possible you should try to raise your sat or take act. But only do so if it won’t hurt the other aspects of your application
I think they will weigh the fact that you are Ethiopian. Your math section is nearly perfect which will help. I think the writing section is not weighed as heavily as the math / cr. Good luck to you.
Side note: Abebe Bikila is one of my all time athletics heros.
Yes the writing section is under less consideration. And being a urm also definetly could help you since you have good scores. As long as you have good grades and solid ec’s I think you have a reasonable chance. But top schools like UChicago are hard for any student to get into so don’t feel bad if UChicago doesn’t work out. What other colleges have you applied to?
