What would be a good lower range good match or safety school?

Are you really 14 years old? I went to college at 16; you'd be younger than I was at the start of my freshman year. Given that, I'd look at smaller, more supportive places rather than huge campuses. I went to Wake Forest - 3000 undergrads; in retrospect, I'd have been better served at a smaller LAC, given my youth.

I visited CMU it was so weird. i was there and the other prefrosh with me was the only person i hung out with. we ended up watchign Office space!! it was so boring. the campus is dead. at 10 we gave up adn were like, "we have to do * something * so i asked my host's roommates who were all studying, and they were like, "hmm...stuff to do...? at night? lets see.... you could get food?" so we tried to and 4/5 stores or restaurants were closed?! weird school. i hated it. my dad wanted me to send it my SIR so bad. but NO WAY

Thanks all for the advice thus far...I'll have to look up a few more before I alter my list, it's not exactly top priority right now...

gadad, yep. I don't like big schools in general, but MIT isn't included in that definition for me ;) Two other schools I am looking at are Olin (some pretty small number) and Deep Springs (26).

I'm going to a CMU information session actually. I hope they feel special. First non-MIT college to which I decided to go to an information session.
