what would be a reason you wouldnt be accepted into boarding school?

I passed all of my previuos classes but not with the best grades and my friend also apllied to the same school... basically the only thing i'm waiting for is my ssat results to get to the admissions office and for my parent portion of the interview to be finished. i've been stressing out about it all and i just wanted to know for one, what are reasons some applicants dont get accepted and would they still strive to finish my application process if they didnt like me as a student?
p.s. i did the student interview and he still emailed me asking of the results and my mom then he got the results but he was out of oddice for the week so i have no idea whether or not i'm going to get in!!!

I don’t believe applications are even up yet. And the majority of schools don’t inform applicants of the admissions decision until March 10. The school year hasn’t started yet, so most schools are not worried so much about the upcoming admissions round as getting the new round of new students into the school.

Calm down. Relax, and take a deep breath. It’s okay. Admission decisions won’t be out for a while, so there is no use in working yourself up over it now.

There is a balance between being realistic and being hopeful. In reality, 85% of the brightest, most successful, athletic, musical, published poets, science fair winners excellent SSAT perfect A students will be REJECTED at the most competitive schools. That’s who you are competing with, and they cannot take all of you. It becomes a game of chance who gets in. Play the oboe from Montana?

Over and over, the parents on these threads suggest applying to a range a schools and casting a wide net, because it is highly likely that you will find a wonderful school that you will be admitted to if you do your research, prepare the applications with care, and try to pay attention to the “fit” of the school.

Be hopeful. Be realistic.

If you’re applying and interviewing this late in the game (I assume for this year), then you’re probably applying to a school that is less competitive than those that 2prepmom is describing. Go to boarding school review and check to see how many kids are accepted to your school of choice and what the average SSAT is. That will give you a better sense of chance of being admitted than we can. The reasons for admitting or not admitting students just vary too widely from school to school.
