what would be your advice to me?

I want to go to a university with pre-med major/programme, but I am afraid my grades aren't good enough right out of high school. I am not sure of my GPA because my school doesn't say, but I could roughly say that most of my grades are B's, a few A's might have come along, as a few C's also, but in majority my grades are all B's.

I asked some people around me what I should do regarding college ect. And some told me I should go to a community college, get an associates degree in something related to pre-med, such as bio, and then transfer to a 4 year university with a pre-med programme. But I am afraid that I will be 'loosing' 2 years of my precious life, when the plan was to go straight to a 4-year university.
Someone also told me that I could transfer to an university and transfer the college credits with me, but then she also said not all universities accept credit transfers from community colleges.

(If your advice includes something about community college, then can you mention cc names and which universities I would be able to transfer after transferring my credits too?)

Oooor, should I just apply straight away for a 4 year pre-med major, but do it at a school that reflects my high school grades, such as NY institue of technology or can you suggest any others?

Many thanks, I really appreciate it because I feel rather lost.

I would try to stray away from CC if you can (unless it isn’t financially-doable to go to a 4year). The reason being is most med schools prefer it that you take your pre-med req’s at a 4 year. So if you go straight there, you won’t have to worry about taking them at a CC at all. Your GPA doesn’t sound all that bad actually, so I wouldn’t go so far as to say no univ. would accept you. Apply to your state schools + others that would be of low-cost. NYIT would be fine. If you are a NY-resident, definitely apply to most of the SUNY’s that you can see yourself at.

But yeah, try to go for a 4 year university.
PS you don’t “major in pre-med,” you say that you intend to go to medical school and that you are taking the pre-med track/route/path/pre-requisites. Most schools don’t have a major in “pre-med” so a lot of people might flame you for saying that - just a heads up.

So good luck!
