What would colleges like better? need help!

I'm not sure if this is the correct section to post this,
but I am really conflicted in making this choice, mainly because I don't know which one colleges will prefer.

I am currently a Junior in High School, yes the most important year, and I don't know whether I should take AP English 11, and end up with a B, or take regular CP English 11 and go for the easy A. My current schedule is:

AP Stats
English 11 AP or CP (Literature)
AP Physics
AP Calculus AB
Spanish 3
US History

My current weighted GPA is 4.21 and unweighted is 3.71 mainly because I screwed up freshman year and ended up with 3 B's. I am thinking about dropping English because it takes most of my time in the day, and the stress of essay writing just irritates me. Also, if I were to keep my class as AP English 11, there would be no possible way for me to get an A in the class because my teacher is a very hard grader and doesn't believe in giving 9's on essays, while regular English would be an easy A. Also, removing this AP course would benefactor in me having more time to study for the SAT and other classes.

My sister, who is a recent graduate from uPenn law school, told me that it would be smarter to take the CP class because alot of the time the admissions people mainly look at your weighted GPA, and your unweighted GPA, only glancing at how rigorous your schedule is. Should I take this advice?

So my question to you CC is whether colleges prefer me to take this AP course and receive a B, or take the CP class and get an A, boosting my unweighted GPA!

Thank you very much!

You have to realize that it is very difficult for students to predict their grades, despite whatever “certain” info they feel they have. Which course would you prefer to take? Which would be more interesting to you? That is the course you should take. Your handing the decision to what “colleges prefer” says something unsettling about how you might continue to make life decisions down the road.
