I think I will apply to USC as well. My question is what happens if get accepted? USC admission letters for transfers dont go out until june. UC's around April. Say if I get accepted to a UC, do I accept the offer or wait until june. I have no idea how this whole process works past application phase

You can accept the #1 choice you want for UC, and if later you find out you got accepted to USC you can SIR to USC and call the UC that you want to withdraw your SIR from

^ like a boss.

BAWSE! lol

thanx for the info. Whats a SIR?

[What is a SIR?](<a href=“LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You”>LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You)

Student Intent to Register

Thank you sparky you really helped.
[SIR - Google Search](<a href=“SIR - Google Search”>SIR - Google Search)

Thank you Karma for the explanation that would Sparky was too much of a ****** to type.

Thanks guys! This thread helped me out a lot because I’m faced with the exact same issue.

Downside to this is if you decide to withdraw your SIR, you can’t get a refund.

Because everything, even something as basic as SIR, which also isn’t so hard to google, should be explained to you.

No, but I wouldn’t be asking if I found a relevant answer after looking myself. If you look at my post, I also posted a google search for when I put in SIR. I even put USC SIR and got similar results.

I have no idea how private schools function and was asking a relevant question.

wgaf?

this is the UC Transfer thread, take this question to the USC thread. Most of us are UC aligned in terms of knowing the requirements/chances/etc. USC stereotypically doesn’t hold that much of a reputation much anyways. If anything you should be asking about UCLA.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/

^ lol are you joking? USC ranked higher than UCLA in a few ranking systems this year.

…did i say anything about UCLA being ranked higher?

PS. why is it UCLA is the more international renowned school then & not USC?

You’re not talking about rankings, yet you’re talking about being “internationally renowned”… strong point

No hate to either, I’m applying to both. Just saying that it’s becoming way, way tougher to get into USC and they are really rising in the standings.

what UC’s did you apply to? you are a bit slow.

im responding to your reply of:

I don’t care about stats, all I know is we don’t care about USC in this thread, this is the UC Transfer specific thread.OP need to post his questions in the respected sections.

“what would i do if i got accepted to PENN STATE?”…but i want to apply to UC’s too tho

pshh. new members make this thread seem so dense. where are all the originals?

I’m a bit slow? At least I can spell.

And the reason he posted in here is probably because many people debate UCLA and USC. They are comparable schools in the same area.

You make a very compelling argument by the way. My apologies for not having 1,000+ posts like you do.

Carry on.

oh no wonder, you hang out in the USC section, no wonder you come to OP’s defense.

wow, kitty. Someone REALLY doesn’t like USC! It’s just a school. (and they stomped UCLA what 52-0 in football the other week).

I am not committed to any school and will attend the best school that accepts me. USC is still a great engineering school. And thats why I wanted to know. I will be applying to USC but not UCLA. I hate it. The traffic there is insanely ■■■■■■■■ around the area of UCLA. I live in Burbank and a USC commute would be super easy.

But I did post in the USC thread as well but received the answer I was looking for here first.

Thank you snizzle for your defense. I just wanted a reply to things I was thinking about so I posted in both forums. Didn’t want to start a flame war over the school name.

I am a transfer student. I have no idea how this stuff works. I just submit my application. That’s what forums are for to discuss information back and forth.

My conundrum (look it up if you need to) is that acceptance offers are off by months and I wanted to know what to do in that scenario. Could be Penn State or Stanford. Sheesh.

I have a feeling that if I said Harvey Mudd, you wouldn’t have had such a reaction. Get off your UCLA is better than USC high horse.

end of story. going to bed
