What would life be like for a biology/ biomedical engineering major?

We have to pay our testing fees, so we only sign up for the tests we want to take. That would be awesome if I got into Duke. No AP stat or lit test!!

Don’t worry too much about planning out your entire college curriculum right now. Start with first semester and see how things go; there’s a possibility you’ll decide you hate what you’re taking and want to your course of study completely.

Place out of as many intro classes with AP credit as you can. As someone else said, the intro courses are often graded on a harsh curve and designed to weed out students who aren’t serious about the subject. I would jump straight into organic chemistry if you place into it.

I’m a senior pre-med bio major btw if you have any specific questions. I’d say one great thing about Duke is that it’s ridiculously easy to get involved in research…you literally email a few labs saying that you’re interested and you’ll probably have a lab job within the week.

Haha yeah, I guess I might be getting ahead of myself. I just want to know if (I get in) it would be worth to take the other AP tests since we have to pay for them.

Thank you so much bluedog, Ouroboros313, SBR, and godevils2011 for answering my numerous questions! I really appreciate it :)

Oh, also, you (godevils2011) mentioned how easy it was to get involved with research. How early do you recommend getting started? Is first semester too soon since we haven’t started taking any specialized classes yet?
