I have an interest in attending Loyola New Orleans because it’s close to home and is a really beautiful school, but I’m not sure if I’d be competitive for the Full Scholarship award. I really enjoy community service and have a passion to extend this in my post-undergrad endeavors. I currently have a 32 composite on the ACT and will likely have a 3.6 GPA (unweighted, only in courses of academic substance) upon applying. Would I be competitive for this scholarship?
What other things should I do to increase my chances?
I don’t know if you’ll be competitive or not (this could change each year depending on the applicants) but to express interest, you should arrange to visit the school through their admission offices, interview, apply through their Early Action option. Find out who your regional rep is and begin an ongoing dialogue with them; let them know how excited you are about the school and that you’re planning to apply for the Ignatian scholarship.
