what would u do in my situation?

Hi, i am hoping to get some help with my ED choices. If you could go to Wesleyan as a highly likely admit and have a better than average chance at Pomona & Claremont McK (but no guarantees) - would you do that as ED or apply to Duke, Georgetown and Brown without any advantage? What would u do if u were me? Go with a moon shot for ED1 and one of the 3 LACs for ED2? Or just stick with LACs for both ED1 and 2? 34/35 ACT, 98 weighted gpa, 8 APs, three 5s and one 4 on AP tests, not really any stand out activities, wanting to study political science/government/psychology. Thank you!

Do you have a favorite? I would apply ED to the school I like the most (presuming you’ve run the NPC and it looks to be affordable) and then ED 2 to my second choice.

All your schools are difficult admits whether it’s 17% vs 9% or whatever. None of the schools are a guarantee. Why is Wesleyan a high admit chance for you? It was 17% last year. An ACT of 34 puts you in the middle of their profile.

Personally I would use ED 1/2 for your top school(s) and let the chips fall where they may. I would also add a few match/safety schools to your list. That’s a top-heavy list.

You didn’t say where you’d like to attend, nor why you believe schools with ultra-low acceptance rates such as Pomona and CMC represent less challenging admits for you than a school such as Georgetown, which offers a somewhat more accessible rate.

Wesleyan’s ACT range, however, seems to settle a bit lower than indicated above after all scores have been recorded. On its most recent CDS, the middle-range spans from 30 to 34.

I was looking at their latest student profile. I saw 32-35 with 34 as median but regardless Wesleyan isn’t an easy admit.
