I hate finals. Before them I was thinking I could potentially end with a 3.9, but now it looks more like a 3.6/3.7. However, my classes were incredibly easy (like, most of you on this site could get a 4.0 with the classes i took lol), and I go to a branch campus for a semi-major university (the university of Pittsburgh) Also you only need a 3.25 for Dean’s list haha. Anyway my classes next semester will be pretty challenging, but I should be able to transfer to the main campus if I do good enough…

In my first quarter, I got a 3.9. Not bad, but I took very easy courses (I was trying to gradually slide into the college life).

I now have a 3.976.

I ended up with a freakin 2.75 with a C+, B and B-… I was originally on the road for a honors program but Obv not now… I took intensive Italian (6 credits) *B, honors middle eastern history (only freshman/3 credits) *C+, honors Greek civilization (3 credits) *B-… And 3 credits in figüre skating becekse im on the team

~ doesn’t look like I’ll get to transfer… Fuuuuq and I hate it here

You do realize that the average GPA at most state schools is under that?

"You do realize that the average GPA at most state schools is under that? "

Yes, but that seems irrelevant unless you’re reading that statement alone, taken out of context.

I’m going to a community college at Milwaukee and my first semester gpa is 3.8

I took Calc I, Spanish, English 1 and lifting.

My second semester will be tough tho but hopefully i’ll manage to transfer.

^Transferring to a UW school or Marquette?

Hopefully UW - Madison. I’ll also apply to UM : Twin Cities.

There’s no reason you shouldn’t get a 4.0 every semester if you’re a liberal arts major - 'cause, you know, all liberal arts classes are an easy A…

I’m an international student from Saudi Arabia majoring in engineering and am like hoping for a 3.0 at best…
Sure, it’s not that high but c’mon GPA isn’t all job opportunities look at. There’s background, major, and university too… GPA should be a person-to-person case is what I’m saying. I’d suggest looking at average GPAs for your major and university for a better understanding of what “okay” is.
At my school, you get on the Dean’s List for having a 3.5 with 12-14 credit hours, and a 3.2 with 15+ credit hours. For me personally, getting a 3.2+ would be ideal, especially considering my struggles in high school.
