What would you do in my situation?

I'm currently a junior at texas. My GPA is a 2.7 on a 6.0 scale. I really want to goto college. My parents expect me to goto college. My class ranking sucks. I'm not stupid, just a normal loser. The first class I've fail would be my second semester of english and nearly passed biology. Most of this is due to me being bullied and low self-esteem. I'm really quite pathetic. I've never gone on a date and I got no friends. I fail spanish which lowered my GPA in sophomore year. I don't have a single A on my transcript, yes apparently I made a B in physical education. People copy me thinking I'm smart juts cause I'm asian. I don't want to tell my parents I might not make it into college because I'm afraid of the fact they'll disown me or something, but I'm really scared. What should I do? I'm afraid of being made fun of if I told my situation to "school friends". I don't really want to go to Community College due to the fact that I might be ridiculed for being dumb.

bring your gpa up asap! if you got no friends, focus on your studies. your gpa is super low so you just might end up in community college. community college isn’t all that bad. it saves you $$ and you can transfer to regular college after 2 years. a lot of people do that. you should talk to your parents now because it’s better for them to know now than find out later. there is nothing ashamed of going to community college. half of harvard is probably made up of what you call “losers” and “nerds”. ignore those bullies. focus on your grades.

I can’t tell if this is ■■■■■.

If not, keep your chin up dude. Jus because you haven’t been on a date means nothing. I think you’re getting caught up on otter people’s opinions. Just ignore them. Why would you want to impress a bunch f dirtbags anyways. Your not the loser. The kids who are bullying you to raise their self asteem are. Just ignore hay others think and be yourself. Everything will eventually fall into place.

Keep your chin up kid

First off, get optimistic man! Everything occurs for a reason, in your case you realized you have done bad in school, well now is the time to turn it around, do something about it. Even if you are doing bad, it’s not the end, college is still an option for you, but you just have to try harder, not only harder, but smarter! And don’t listen to those other kids that say community college is for dumb kids, that’s completely wrong, I know many people who go to community college for the first two years so that they can transfer to a four year university. Realize it or not, a lot of people do it and it’s perfectly fine.

Something that my inspire you to go to community college if you don’t get into other colleges is that, it doesn’t matter where the path takes you as long as you get to the place you want. Basically, I’m saying who cares if people bag on you for going to community college, when you graduate and become someone, they won’t be able to say anything because you made your goal. My dad use to get bad grades well back in Vietnam, but when he came here he realized he had to work hard and he went to community college and you know what he’s a lawyer and we live in a pretty nice house. It just goes to show anything is possible.

By the way if these bullies keep bothering you, try asking your parents if you can transfer high schools, no kid should have to sit through that type of torture…

MobiusEvalon,

You should stop by your guidance counselors office, and talk with them about your options. They should be able to help you deal with the bullies, and they should also be able to help you figure out why you aren’t doing as well in school as you would like to. It is possible that you have a learning disability that just hasn’t been identified yet, and you would learn better if you had some simple changes in the way your classes are taught. You should also talk with your counselor about the best way for you to choose a career. The career that you really want, and can be very successful at, might not need a college degree at all.

Don’t be afraid that people might think you are dumb just because you end up at a community college! Some of the best students in the country end up there every single year for the simple reason that it is affordable for them. With the current economy, more good students are going to community colleges than ever before.

Wishing you all the best!
