What would you suggest?

So, the time has come for me to sign up for another community college. When I took the placement test, I qualified for Calculus I, so I was considering taking that. However, I just recently got a very bad score on a math test, a 62, in Pre-Calculus, so I was just wondering if you all think that taking calculus would help me or hurt me. Would taking the harder-level math make precalc a lot easier?

Also, for those of you taking the IB Curriculm. I don't know much about it as a sophomore, but do you think that if I got an A in Calculus they would let me skip a year in IB Math? Or does that seem preposterous?

For your first question, a lot of people say that Pre-Calculus doesn’t teach you anything about Calculus. But, Pre-Calculus has skills that that you should know to do well in Calculus. It’s up to you. If you do take Calculus I prepare to work REALLY hard. Sorry, I can’t answer your IB question, I’m not in the IB curriculum.

Thanks for the advice!
