I have come to the conclusion that I will be getting deferred, and if/when I do I will have to narrow down from this list of schools..

Michigan Technological
Michigan State
Grand Valley State

what would you guys/gals recommend if I had to choose between those three schools? I am also submitting to UW Madison, but I forgot about the app fee so i'm really late on that one..

Have you been on any college visits to the schools? Thats what really helped me narrow down my choices. I visited Madison, and the school is right in the middle of Madison. I guess it felt really random and not very much like a college town, because it really isn’t. But I think its a pretty good school, just wasn’t for me.

I agree with the statement about U of W. There’s a highway and other busy roads running through it. I took it off my list because of that too. I like Madison but it isn’t in a good area for walking at all. It’s a great school though

Well, I’d say state but I’m biased. MSU is one of my favorite colleges lol. I think I might end up going there even if I get accepted by Michigan when they re-review my app later.

Anyway, just like sospiro said above, it really depends on what you want to study. Also, go on a campus tour if possible because they will really help. If you’re unsure of what to study, I would recommend Michigan State because they’re the largest and will give you the most options. James Madison and Lyman Briggs residential colleges are very well-respected, so if you applied to either of those I would not pass them up.
