Yesterday I got an email for an interview. this is really wierd because i thought that admissions decisions have probably already been made. this is a really late interview. did anyone else get an email to interview this far into the process? please reply. thanks.
Is this a good sign/bad sign/no sign??
I am so scared!

this probably means that you are VERY borderline and that this interview would make it or break it for you. I would consider yourself lucky and prepare for it intensively

this is a good sign though

i agree. lucky you!

definitely a good sign. Don't be scared- go in there and knock their socks off! :)

Does everyone get interviews? I've been hearing mixed things. I had one and it went so well, but is getting an interview a good sign?

nikki164: as much as possible, yale wants all of its applicants to be interviewed, so i dont think that getting an interview is indeed a good sign. however, it could increase your chances of getting in if your interview went well.

If you got emailed much earlier, then it wouldn't mean anything. BUT, since it's so close to the March 31st deadline for admissions, it is probably a good sign.

geez Pierre. what a killjoy. browneyes- kick some arse.

Yale never called me for an interview. When I called yale they informed me that interview is not an absolute necessity. I dont think I can get in Yale, so I wrote off Yale.

Yeah... I really think the interview is very important for you... :D Cheers... Good luck... :D :)

Don't hesitate to ask the person what's up.

I didn't get an interview too.

an interview is not necessary. A few people on this board, including me, were accepted EA without one. The OP is almost definitely a very borderline candidate that the adcom sees potential in, but wants to know more about before making their decision. If you didn't get an interview, it may be that your application is strong enough without one and the adcom just didn't need it.

what is the op?

original poster

tis quite agrivating that I applied EA, and yet i didn't get an interview, even after being deferred.
brwneyes - i'm sure you'll be amazing at your interview!

wait....was this a FIRST interview? or a second one.......
