1991 - Sophomore

You so did not have to grow up through the 80s to appreciate them though. My favorite vocal recital was singing “What I did for Love” from A Chorus Line, because I got to dress in the headband, and the off-one-shoulder shirt, and a sweatpant-material skirt (I didn’t own leggings at the time). So much love for the 80s. =)

Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, JEM, omg. I definitely played with Pogs! I also remember Tamagotchis/Nano Pets/Giga Pets…

EIGHTIES HOLLA! 1986. I graduated from college in 2008 and I’m going to my third year of grad school now.

Also, how would people born in the 1990s know that Kimberly was meant for Tommy? That show ran from 1993 to 1995, when most of you hadn’t even hit kindergarten yet. Not being snide, I honestly want to know if y’all honestly remember Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

I grew up watching the power rangers. The old season though.

Juillet, it’s cause after the original they started running all those “special” seasons of PR. You know, the dumb ones that were nothing like the original?

How about Animorphs and Goosebumps? =) And Animaniacs, while we’re on "a"s. =P

And was it just me, or did anyone else legit play marbles as a kid? My grandparents used to have a huge set that we’d play with, using a shoelace or whatever as the ring.

Oh, and here’s something else us 80s kids (well, the girls at least) were more likely to experience than the 90’s babies: seeing Titanic in theaters!!! =D I remember getting the jumbo bucket with my mom and running out halfway through the movie lol. And speaking of jumbo, portion sizes have definitely shrunk in the last ten years. =(

F yes I played with POGs! those things were the bee’s knees. I had this cool plastic tube, similar to that of a pringles can, that was made for my huge collection of POGs. I had all kinds of bad ass slammers, metal ones, plastic ones with groves for your fingers… it was so Legit.

regarding the OP’s question:
Dec 1990 - Junior

Ok, so my boss had some Sixlets in his drawer that I caught sight of today…I had forgotten all about sixlets! Favorite candies growing up? We (my sister and I) used to LOVE those candy cigarettes, probably more so cause our parents didn’t want us buying them. Imo, it was better we latched onto a fascination with the candy version rather than the burning version. =P

Oh, and those impossible-to-peel-off candy buttons…and those wafer things (my sister and I called them flying saucers, those ones with the little candy beads between the two wafers…anyone know what I’m talking about???)

Warheads, of course. And those wax soda bottles that had the juice stuff in them. And of course, the GIANT jawbreakers. =)

Haha, I thought I was the only one that read those!

But anyway, I was born in 1990 and I’m a sophomore/junior.
