what you think, can i get in?

My highs were 580(M) 530(V) and i have a 89 GPA
also i guess ill mention a few other things
-im 91/235 in my class
-4 years varsity tennis 2 year captain (with mucho success)
-i wanna go for business
-Recs from Marketing teacher of 2 years, math tutor of 6 years
-early action
anything else you think is pertinent ask

where u from

nj!! yeah now im just typing to make 10 characters

umm ur GPA i think is pretty good for OOS UCONN, but ur SAT scores arent helpin too much.

Do u have any other ec's besides tennis

2 year ski club
2 year DECA with alot of involvement
a few volunteer tennis events

you thing the whole 4 year varsity and captain 2 years helps?

Your chances are pretty good. Definitely below the avg SAT, but your GPA should help you

uconns average sat is an 1177... she's not that far off..

It may depend on what major you are applying to. My daughter had 1120 SATs and a 3.7 GPA, great ECs and rec and ended up getting waitlisted and then not accepted to UConn. She applied to the physical therapy program, which only takes about 30 students a year I believe. What are you looking to major in?

marketing...

You have a good shot. I got in for spring 2006 with a 3.3 gpa (63/248) and 25 act from WV with only a few ECs (Eagle Scout). Both my parents went there though so maybe that helped? Good luck, its kinda expensive for OOS though so I might transfer out.

but im only top 40% think that hurts?

God, i used to think eh maybe ill go but now i visited and i REALLY wanna go
so yeah my stats are at the top of the thread

What kind of good match am I!!! hah
Good Match but i might not make it
Or
Good Match, not a safety but close to it
or
Something else lol

but more indepth like
for instance a have an 1110 (M+V) and an 89 (about a 3.4)
which is about on par with all of the avg's
like all rec's, EC's and other stuff aside, can that get me in?

im so nervous sry for this

You have a pretty good shot at UCONN, I know of people with lower grades from out of state. But it all depends on luck of draw, I have seen people with really good grades turned down, while those with good lower grades have gotten in.

they said since they have so many apps there are so many same grade people so its all in the personal statement

I personally think a fairly good personal statement, and good ec's pretty much gets you in. At least it did for me.

Are you a student there now?
Yeah they say they want something that sets you apart and my rec's do that one rec is okay, its about a 3/4 of a page from my marketing teacher of two years and my best one is from my math tutor who i had from 6th to 12th grade and she like describes me in everyway, like some people will say i understand hes good at tennis but she went in detail.
She would come everyweek and idk i felt close to her so i told her about my life and what was going on, it was not all math. So she prob felt more like a friend and put more passion into it ya no? She was a tutor who came to my house so it wasnt like a school tutor so thats why i opened up so much.
Shes my golden ticket and my personal statement is a pretty good explaination on how tennis has shaped my life in manyways i love it

Yes I'm a freshmen there now.

I argree with bigndude that it will be the luck of the draw, but I think you have a very decent shot.

Bigndude, How hard is it to keep up your gpa there in the first year with all the 101 and required classes?

Keeping up a GPA requires a lot of work but it really isn't impossible. You will sacrifice a lot of free time to have really good grades but its worth it in the end. Keeping up with classes really wasn't too bad first semester and my beginning classes were quite good.

oh and i forgot to say my school doesnt release rank anymore and i have a pretty high gpa so yea theyll never no im 97/235!!! with a 89 gpa, for all they know i could be 25% lol
