Eh, I would no really rely heavily on them making a decision on just personal statements...UCONN is known for relying a lot on SAT scores.

I guess for avg students like me it is about the ps though cuz there is so many, not for the lower SAT and GPA or the kids that are vals and sals where their grades speak for themselves.

Hi all
First time posting so if I mess up -forgive me
I'm just nervous after hearing about all these acceptences and I applied in October and have not heard yet. I applied to the School of Agriculture-Animal Science.
My stats are SAT 1200 and 630 writing
91.3 GPA
last 2 years took all AP courses and my average for 10th and 11th and first quarter of 12th is about 97. Messed up 9th grade. Hope that isn't held against me.

So why haven't I heard -I hate this waiting game. Wonder if Animal Science is harder or easier to get into?

curious- i'm with you on the waiting forever thing... i applied in october as well, and online... so the statement that if you apply early and online you will hear first is not necesarily true... since it's been over two months since my online app and supporting materials were sent in...

you'll probably just have to wait.. you could call admissions and TRY to ask to see if they've sent you a decision.. but more than likely, they wont/cant tell you that info, and it's just a matter of waiting.

Im looking for some insight. My D applied to UConn RD. Here GPA is 2.7, 3.1 and 3.4 Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years respectively from one of the top public HS in MA. SAT was 600(M), 560(V), don't recall writing. She is currently in 2 honors classes. Has been VERY involved with chapter United Synagogue Youth, including leadership role. Traveled to Israel 2 summers ago and is going again this summer (which she is financing on her own). Teaches at local dance school where shes also been student for 10 years. Has a pretty good essay (about her experiences in Israel) and great recommendations (Ive only seen one but it was great).

I'm told there is a thin envelope waiting for her at home.

While nothing is certain, however, looking at this forum and UConn website I would have figured her qualifications would have gotten her in. Any insights?

Well the admissions envelopes are thin, but the envelope is big like 8 X 12 . Uconn is getting very competitive to get into that could have sometihng to do with it. Good stats like your D's may have gotten people in before, but today they sometimes aren't good enough unless there is something to offset the low stats.

Yeah...I think Uconn is definitely an under-rated university. Although it may not be comparable to the California Publics or Chapel Hill, it is definitely competitive and a great place to be (new buildings...the only downside is its in the middle of no where)

The average SAT of honors program members is around 1400 (which seems very high for a public school). If I don't get accepted to Duke or Dartmouth I will probably choose Uconn (despite that I have to pay out-of-state tuition
:( .
