what you think when you hear "all-girl's boarding school"?

i agree with dys2k6

Oh what a creepy post. Okay what girl's schools have boy's schools as neighbours? That would be interesting.

I wonder if Emma Willard has a boy's school nearby... OhLaLa!

mps, ethel walker, and westover has avon near by.

isn't salisbury close to westover too? I don't know, but i know there's a few near to westover...i'll check

salisbury actually probably is considered close to westover now tha tI think about it.

hear are the ones near westover: salisbury, avon, trinity pawling and south kent. do most girls in an all girls school meet boys out of school or do they do it by get togethers put together by the schools

where is emma willard? what's it like?

Emma Willard ... is a gorgeous school. Some people say it more like a college campus but it really is great. They say some french designer did all the gargoyles, stained glass windows and carved wooden doors and all. Very castle like!

www.emmawillard.org

It i supposedly the first girl's school in the country. It has underground tunnels to get to classes and other cool stuff! The girls aren't totally snobb central either and the academics are great. They almost have 1300 SAT average now I think.

I'm going there this september for 11th grade and I wondered if there were boys schools nearby!

And when you guys say there are boys schools nearby to westover and all, do you mean WALKING DISTANCE?

probably not, the schools are along a lot of main roads and it isn't safe to walk. However, you can always take a cab. BTW, all single-sex schools have visiting hours.

What do I think? Add a webcam and a paysite and you'll have yourself every horny man, boy and lesbian in the internet connected world giving you money.

no, they are close though, girlenigma. if you're boarding elvenqueen, can you leave campus if you want?

Both boys' and girls' schools sponsor dances and such each month. One weekend Westover may be the host, the next weekend it may be TP, the next weekend, it could be Ethel Walkers and so on, and all the schools are invited to the host school to hang out and socialize. Other events with co-ed schools include Spring music concerts and fairs..(these really fantastic, b/c you get to watch up and coming bands perform before the rest of the MTV public does) No, these single sex schools are not in walking distance of each other. Believe me, it ain't like the movies where the girls and boys are sneaking out to meet each other at night. Frankly, you'll be kept so busy at your own schools you won't have anytime to think about going to a boys' school on your own. it's truly a hassle.

i have a friend who goes to one and is desperate to get out. her parents suggested her going to wellseley and hse flipped out lol.

pretty much... as long as there isn't a requried event. yup.

I think of Rory and Paris. Even though Chilton wasn't all girls and it wasn't a boarding school.

haha.

Does anyone know where "Chilton" was filmed?

all girls school?

at least 1/4 of the campus on PMS at any given time. This is why I'm not applying to any all girls colleges

A studio in Hollywood...
It's disputed that Chilton was based on Choate. The whole series (Gilmore Girls) makes a bunch of references to prep schools in general (Logan and Chris bonding over getting kicked out of both Deerfield and Groton, Logan's sister's friends (can't remember the name at the moment) reminiscing about their NYC private school days...)

They're both in suburban areas in southern conneticut and are academically elite. Also, if you visted Choate and saw a rerun of Gilmore Girls, you'll realize that they also look familiar.

(sorry for the bad grammar, i just woke up...)
