Whatcha Doin This Weekend? March edition

H will be cleaning up the yard after two big storms this week. I can’t help (doctor’s orders, post surgery) so will be feeling lazy and guilty inside. We’re still getting unusually high wind, but at least the threat of another tornado is over.

This weekend? Praying it does not snow 8 inches tonight and then ice. I have someplace to be at 11:30 tomorrow morning…and I really hope I can get there.

St. Patrick’s Day parade in my town tomorrow. St. Pat’s day seems to be getting like Christmas around here. The ads and celebrating starts TOO early.

Two hour drive in each way for D24 to play rugby in the rain and wind…

Busy people! I drove down to Cabrillo National Monument (my neighborhood national park) but it was a bit hazy for whale watching. I did see the restored tall ship San Salvador, watched an Osprey take off from Naval Air Station North Island, barely made out snow on the tops of mountains using binoculars, noted one of the Celebrity cruise ships was in port, and enjoyed the start of the spring bloom.

Not much else planned other than practicing Tai Chi from my recent online course.

Beautiful!

I think I’m going to have to add, “build an ark” to my weekend to-do list

The rain is UNREAL! :motor_boat: :speedboat: :canoe:

We are going to spend the afternoon in Winston-Salem. Why? Because the final segment of the Greensboro beltway is finished and I want to drive on the new road. It opened a month ago, but I didn’t know…

I fully admit I’m weird

We should have nice weather for you this weekend after excessive winds today. Have fun!

Since moving to Nashville, I typically have Sunday dinner with D’s family alternating between my place and theirs. I was in FL 2 weeks ago and they were there last week, so it will be nice to get back in our groove this weekend.

Heading home to PA for the first time in over 3 years; MIL is having surgery Monday, so I’m going up to take care of her for the week. Hoping all is well at the Philly airport in the morning. I plan on eating all the foods I can’t get in SC; Martin’s BBQ potato chips, here I come :joy:

I had a great day today, Friday, spending several hours at the home of a colleague that I hadn’t seen for a while before the pandemic. But it seemed like Saturday all day long. Does that count?

Nothing exciting this weekend. I’ll probably do the basement gym routine tomorrow and a long walk with my husband on Sunday. I’ve got a project that needs a special permit and the client is worried if it doesn’t get into the next planning board meeting she won’t get her grant, so I will probably spend at least a few hours on it. I also promised a watercolor painting for a fundraiser, I’ve done it twice, but it’s not quite where I want it. I’m going to try one more time and then pick the best of the three.

Digging out of a whole lot of snow, and looking forward to D & GD spending the day (and maybe night) with us … they lost their power (again - it was out for three days last week due to an ice storm).

I’ve been keeping myself busy with certain college courses I “need”

When I’m not on my laptop doing homework or taking notes. I’ve been binge-watching Family Guy and after the episode is over back to my courses

S26 has a rock climbing competition this afternoon.

Then gym, yard work, grocery shopping.

We just got back from vacation in Norway/the Arctic Circle, so it’ll be nice to settle in and be home.

Hubby and I have zilch to do tonight! Unless we just go out by ourselves, which is a possibility. I’m bored, frankly. This is a weird time of life because we have several friends who now live in Florida for the winter, and others who ski at the weekends, and still others who have got divorced. We are pretty bored during the winter months, tbh.

We actually did go skiing with friends a couple of weeks ago and both of us ended up with injuries (not major). I felt that was a strong sign that my skiing days are over because it really could have been much worse. If we go to our friends’ ski place again, it will just be for snowshoeing or hot tubbing.

Yep, and good rye bread!!! I may have to check a bag on my way back with just Martin’s BBQ chips and rye bread :joy: I love living in SC, but even the Mennonite bakeries in town sell what tastes like soft, rye-flavored italian :grimacing:
