You need Calculus
I’m in normal Calc this year and I’m getting an A- for it. I’m taking AP Calc and AP Stats next year
Is ‘normal’ calc like AB, & you will take BC? Make sure your LOR references your ability to math & analytical thinking. They will want to accept you, but also to be sure that you have the background needed to be ready for the course, & all the Irish students will have a solid level of calc.
Normal Calc is not AP. It’s just regular Calculus. I’m taking AP Calc AB and AP Stats next year, so I won’t be able to take AP Calc BC. So is this good enough to get admission?
There is no standard way that high schools in the US handle calculus, so it’s easy for everyone in a conversation to get confused. It sounds like OP’s high school offers a calculus sequence that is calculus → AP Calc AB → AP Calc BC.
OP: You will have two years of calculus for the purposes of meeting college requirements. Since this is an international school though, you might want to look at what Trinity expects to be covered in high school calculus. Assuming your two years of calculus cover these requirements, you could ask your counselor to provide an outline of what was covered in these classes.
Here are the topics covered in Irish Leaving Cert Maths (HL, which is what is required). At the bottom of the page are the exams from 2017 & 2018 (note that there are 2 parts to the exam, so make sure you check out both parts) (and have sympathy for the Irish students: they all have to take 2 x 2.5 hour exams for math). Your math teacher ought to be able to tell you if you will have this material covered by the time you finish senior year:

Paging @Twoin18, as somebody who might know (and might enjoy the question): would you take a look at the Leaving Cert link above, and see how you think it would align with SAT Math 1/2 and AP Calc AB/BC? The program the OP is applying to wants a (UK-type) 60 on that exam for a computer engineering course. Separate from the admissions element, do you know enough about the various exams to ballpark what would have the OP in good shape?
