<p>So I have a 2.8 UW gpa. I realize this awful/horrible/laughable. Should I even bother applying, like is it completely pointless. The main reason for my grades were freshman and soph year I wanted to attend a music conservatory, since most of them don’t care about grades, neither did I. However, over time I realized that that wasn’t what I wanted.</p>

<p>MIT likes to see positive trends. There’s probably a lot more to you than your freshman and sophomore year grades, so my guess is that you should apply.</p>
<p>do people with really bad AS level grades but otherwise great grades get accepted?</p>
