Hey so I got into both ucla and uc berkeley and I am having such a hard time deciding where to go. i live in southern california and would love to go to either one. which one will help me get into a better med school? I am a senior in hs and told both colleges I was undeclared. if I were to major in a social science like history is one college better than another? what if instead I were to major in a science like neuroscience or molecular bio ? what should I do? help please! I feel like I just don't want to make a mistake. ps I also got into the "lowered" ranked uc schools like uci and ucr(don't mean to insult anyone btw). should i go there instead so I will get a higher gpa and the competition might be less cut throat?

im also facing the same dilemma, kaligirl. anybody have suggestions?

From what I hear, neither of them will necessarily give you any advantage. No other schools have more pre-med students than these two, and competition is stiff at both. The consensus is that UCLA might be slightly easier, and there might be a better balance of academics/social life, but I don't fully believe it. If I lived in Southern California, I'd probably go to UCLA. But Berkeley is close by and it has that extra prestige factor that isn't useful for med school admissions, but is nice to have.
