Hi Everyone, I was wondering what would be a competitive gpa to transfer to UC Berkeley from a CCC with a major in mechanical engineering.

Its more complex than just gpa. Upward trends, greater consideration of major related coursework, extracurriculars. I know several people who got in with around a 3.3, and many who were denied with >3.9.

^agreed.

Of course aim for as high as you can buy it really depends on your application as a whole. Taking ALL the prereqs for your chosen major helps a fair amount I believe.

E.C, Work experience, volunteer work, essay.

3.8+

Does anyone know what % UCB admitted for transfers this time around?
(Different from the regular Freshmen fall admit rate, that is 20.8% or so.)

Reading the transfer thread one would get the impression everyone got in, and with not so impressive GPAs or other stats.
