What's a good major these days?

I'm going back to school soon and I'm in the process of trying to figure our what I should major in?

I'm interested in psychology but that doesn't seem like the best degree due to lack of jobs.

Also, I was looking at science degree's such a chemistry/biology - but it also seems like those degree's aren't the best these day's either? (hard to find job/low pay/etc)

Right now I'm leaning towards MIS (management information systems). Does this seem like a good undergrad degree? Or is there other degree's that would be better?

Thanks!

Applied Math or Computer Science (any form)

The best degree for sheer employmemt would be nursing, but you probably don’t want to be a nurse.

I plan to major in economics (along with premed/predent) and I think it gives good job prospects.

Accounting
Math
Comp Sci

Most of the Engineering sector is hot right now. However you have to make sure what you study you actually enjoy, not just what currently has the most opportune position in the employment market. It is worthless to study something you aren’t even interested in, since you likely wont be able to stay in that field for long without even a passing interest in the subject material.

If you like the life sciences/ psychology angle, maybe look at studying pharmaceuticals. That is always a profitable area, maybe focus on antipsychotic medicine or new depression treatments.
