Whats a good minor to pair with engineering?

I could do economics fairly easily. Business and spanish are two others that have interested me, but they would require a lot of cross registration.

What is your purpose in seeking this minor?

If it is for better job opportunities then you might as well focus on getting summer student positions or getting high marks. Engineering job recruiters dont look at minors… Heck i rarely see them look at what courses i take besides the overall gpa. Your first job almost depends on what your internship is and your first internship depends on previous work experience/networking or gpa.

If you are interested in something, minor in it. If you have a specific job in mind eventually that you know will benefit from a minor, then minor in that. Otherwise, the vast majority of jobs aren’t going to care about a minor.

I thought about minoring in music, ha! It took me about half a semester to figure out THAT wasn’t going to happen.

I am a CS major, Spanish minor. While the minor itself may not mean much, competency in a second language can mean a lot, and a minor is a good way to get there.

On the other hand, it may be more worthwhile to take just the courses of interest in the second subject rather than to make sure you check all of the boxes for an official minor (though if the courses of interest do pick up the official minor, you might as well take it).

Note that the amount and type of courses for a minor in a subject is not very consistent between different colleges.
