What's a good R1A class?

Hey everyone, initially I didn't think I would need to take an R1A class since I assumed that would get at least a 4 on AP Lit. It looks like I was overconfident... anyways a lot of the R1A classes seem to be filling up and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. One I'm looking at right now is Rhetoric R1A with Napolin. Has anyone heard of this guy? How interesting is he? How difficult is his class? Is he even a He? His/Her name isn't even on ratemyprofessor.com haha.

I took rhetoric R1a, but not with that prof. I did really like the class, and I'm not an English kinda guy. Very interesting, but it is certainly not an easy class.

Is English R1A mainly for English majors? I mean, is it a proper class for EECS majors to take in the first semester?

R1a series is required for all students (or it might just be L&s, not sure) who didn't meet the english requirements.

Most of the time no one will have heard of a certain R1A teacher. That's because most of them are small time professors or GSI's. So you probably won't find them on ratemyprofessor.. Though English R1A's may be a little tougher than the R1A's of other departments, it is totally dependent on the teacher teaching. And again, it will be hard to find out info about the teacher before you sign up for the class, so here's my advice for choosing.. For R1a and R1B, I disregarded the department they were taught under and instead looked at the course descriptions of the various RC classes of all departments.. Usually you can find them on their respective department websites... I chose the class based on if the topic was interesting and if I thought the books that we would be reading would be interesting..
