710 math
530 reading
490 writing

Is this good enough for top schools like Michigan or wisconsin. I'm applying into engineering and I heard they look mostly at math and not so much reading or writing

I think you could raise your writing score a lot…I don’t think those scores are competitive for those schools.

I don’t know much about engineering schools, but I believe if they focus on Maths scores only you have a good chance. However, many look at cr scores too.

Improve it dude… there’s still time now.

I wouldn’t take my chances. I would improve your writing score, and maybe your CR score too.

Thats only a 1730 composite… Not to be a debbie downer, but that is not what I consider “strong”. Writing is easy to raise though! Just do practice prompts and create a “shell” essay that you can use on the real thing! But a score in the 400’s isnt something to be proud of

With such a high maths score, I think you should definitely try to raise that Writing score. 490 is really low, Michigan might deny you for that reason, although it is true that Writing is not as highly regarded as CR and M.

@bryceman hmm what do you mean by creating a “shell” essay? How to make one?
