<p>I heard from a college counselor that you really only need at least 700. However I recently heard that colleges regard a score between 750-790 the same as an 800. Is this true?</p>
<p>Ivy League schools like at least a 750+, and yes, most colleges do regard anything above a 750 the same as an 800 b/c from 750 on, it’s more of luck rather than knowledge on whether you end up with a 750 or 800.</p>
<p>There’s a huge difference in score/percentile comparison between subjects. A 780 is much less impressive on a subject test than on the SAT if 20% of people got higher scores. Here’s a chart showing scores by percentile:
