What's a good/typical freshman schedule?

I am a direct admit to Kelley, and in the Hutton Honors College, too. Could someone who went through these two parts of the school help show/ explain what a good schedule would be? If I need to create a foundational, sample schedule to base it off, I will. I thought some insight from current/ former students would be useful for deciding between classes.

Lots of examples on this board already.

IMHO a good schedule for a DA is based on goals and abilities. Do you want to be in Kelley Honors? Yes, focus on GPA. No, focus on knocking down prerequisites for I-Core and your major.

I always tell Hutton and DA kids to avoid getting cocky and ease into it first semester. No 18 hour schedules. Watch out for the weed out classes.

Take a shot once you’ve read a bit more and we’ll critique it for you.

Don’t worry about scheduling any Hutton classes your first semester. For scheduling purposes, think of yourself as the same as any other direct admit except that you are able to sign up for the honors versions of Kelley classes. What credits do you already have and do you want to try for Kelley Honors?

Jumping in here, but how difficult is Kelley Honors? In terms of both applying to the program and course difficulty/ advantages once accepted?

I’m technically not in Kelley Honors yet, but I did take 2 honors classes in Kelley last semester (C106 and K204) and those classes are only slightly more difficult in terms of content than the regular versions. In C106, some small details of speeches were different than C104, and we had to give one extra group presentation. K204 had a different final project that might have been harder, but the project was manageable (we had a ton of time to do it but we procrastinated a lot and got it done in 3 days). K204 also had a ton more free points than K201, making it easier to get a good grade even with a slightly harder project.
