What's a good way to really stand out in college applications?

I was aiming to go to Georgetown, but it's extremely competitive. How can I really stand out from the others?

Well there are lots of things you could do such as win prestigious competitions like Intel, ISEF, become a Rhodes scholar, etc. I think it all depends on you and your passion so if you have a single passion you have to find a way to demonstrate that, whether it is in music, art or science. Good luck!

Do everything an Asian student does without being Asian.

Sorry for the stereotype, I couldn’t resist.

The best way is to show leadership skills.

Be extremely well rounded!! And have leadership positions!

^^ You don’t necessarily have to be well rounded. When I went to a Penn info session (congrats on getting in!) the admissions representative said it’s ok to be very focused and have only a few main interests that you are passionate about. To OP: Find a few things you like and get involved in them. Show your passion through your activities and your applications will look great.

I don’t think it’s possible to become a Rhodes Scholar in HS lol

Be “well-lopsided.”

FYI, Rhode Scholars are only for college students.

If you’re not extremely talented in academics or music, art, etc, then you can really stand out by writing a great essay.

oh sorry, my mistake…
