What's a solid SAT score for Princeton?

Are 2000 SAT and 30 ACT the thresholds for any Ivies?

^ thresholds?

I would say that those scores wouldn’t affect you TOO negatively at the lower Ivies (Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, UPenn CAS, etc.)

is asian a URM?

nope. I would call it ORM (overrepresented), or non-URM. LOL
btw, is gay URM?

gay as URM depends on the school and it sucks to be asian

How about the top Ivies?

“Are 2000 SAT and 30 ACT the thresholds for any Ivies?”

There are probably numerous people at ALL the ivy’s (even Harvard, Princeton, and Yale) with these scores. Chances are, their GPAs were really high and they did something really amazing (national awards, summer research with NASA, etc…), or they could have been URMs and might have gotten in (b/c URMs with 2000 or 2100 have a higher chance of getting in vs. a non-URM or an ORM with the same scores). Either way, there are definitely people at all the ivy’s with those scores, and there will continue to be people who are admitted to the ivy’s (all included) with those scores. There is much, much more to an applicant than just their test scores. They have to be unique.

^ To add on to that post, though…

If you are an unhooked, ORM, non-RA kid who hasn’t cured cancer or AIDS, a 2000 is too low for HYP.

Do you think very inconsistent SAT scores with 2200+ superscore would be a problem? Anyone know if a separate committee actually superscores first?

“If you are an unhooked, ORM, non-RA kid who hasn’t cured cancer or AIDS, a 2000 is too low for HYP.”

probably so, but i wouldn’t say you’re totally out of the game; the chances of getting in would be slim, though

what is THE most solid URM?? Native American??

^ I saw a half-NA, half-black on CC once.
That was pretty legit as far as URMs go hahaha

I say Africans are.

I think it’s something like native americans > blacks > latinos in terms of chances of college admissions

but all three have higher chances and all are URMs

I think after native american, it should be hispanic

i think hispanics are even more disadvantaged than blacks because often hispanic parents don’t even know english and can’t help their children with school work

it SHOULD be, it isnt that way

yeah, so in all a 2250+ is solid?

btw rumor has it that princeton like sat highscorers especially
in any case, how did ppl come up with the magical no 2200? through observations?

Princeton admitted 28% of 2300+ last year.

Princeton admitted 10% of 2100-2290 last year.

There are a lot more people in the 2100-2290 range applying.

Therefore, I’d say that a 2300+ is solid :)

What if you have an ACT/SAT split. Like for my SAT i only got a 2070, but on the ACT I got a 34. How would admission officers view this. And especially (since I applied under engineering) I got a 650 on Math SAT and 680 on Math SAT 2, but a 35 on the ACT Math. How do you think Adcoms will take that?
