What's a stretch

I want to go to grad school for Econ but I'm not sure what level I should apply to.

My stats.

3.1 GPA
4.0 Econ major GPA
3.0 Classics major GPA
Will do very well on GRE, practice tests ~ 800 math 700 verbal (can't grade my own ana)

I have recommendations from well known profs

I go to USC. My GPA is low because I had a very bad first two years ( GPA ranged from 0.7-1.9). I had just moved to the states from the Middle East (born there, American citizen). It has been 3.5+ for the last 5 semesters or so.

My prof recommended Ann Arbor or UCLA to me but he doesn't know my data. I might aim for USC (which is 50th).

What level schools do you think are the right level to aim at?

I think you should have a broad range. If you have that high GPA in your major, and you did well in upper level classes, that could be good for you. All in all, I think you will have some good options.
