What's an elite scholar?

I got invited to be an elite scholar. I have never looked into FAU, but if they're offering to give me more merit based scholarships then so be it. How is this school's academics?

Whats yous stats

Well do you know why this institution is sending me an elite scholar application? I have 63 credits completed and I go to a cc.

I got that too so I applied.

I got that as well. Do you guys remember if there was a deadline for the Elite Scholar application?I got that too but I lost it. Now I want to apply but I don’t want to apply non Elite if the deadline hasn’t passed. I know the regular priority deadline was like Feb. 15th and then the next one is like May 1st but did the Elite have to be in by the 15th ? If not I’ll call and see how I can apply elite since I can’t find what was mailed to me.

My understanding is that this is a new scholarship program requested by the new FAU president, Dr. Saunders, to entice individuals with high stats to attend the university. It’s definitely worth a look.

It’s bogus. By the time you apply all the money is gone.

beenthereMTdad, could you explain?

The thing to note, again, is that this is a very new program (started this year). I actually received a letter from the Alumni Association urging me to donate to the program. Might be slim on donations this year in light of the fact that people are also donating to the football stadium and the Senior Class project.

We live in NY. We received the invite. Applied with a male student with SAT’s over 1240, AP and college level courses to the tune of approx 13 credits. BC Cacl A+ student with a 3.5 GPA.

Applied, accepted, visited, Zero dollars.

Sorry to hear that beenthereMTdad. Perhaps they weight instate over out of state? When did you visit? When did you hear? Acceptances at FAU are rolling. There were over 27,000 applicants this year, a HUGE increase over last. Award/merit money is also rolling. When did you visit and when did you find out you did not get an award? The award is not bogus. The money is awarded. I am sorry your son did not get an award.

For those interested in FAU in general, there were 27,000 applicants, approx 9500 were extended an acceptance, and they have deposits from around 3500. It was a very competitive year, with Stats to get in going way up. Get your applications in early next year.
