what's an "experimental" section

title says all

anyone? it’s a quick and easy question

There are ten sections on the SAT. One of them doesnt count.
The ones that do count are
CR: 2 25 minute sections, one 20 minute
Math: 2 25 minute sections, one 20 minute.
Writing: one 25 minute essay, one 25 minute section, one 10 minute section
The experimental section is 25 minutes in any of the three

why are there experimental sections? isn’t it unfair that it doesn’t count?

^They are used to determine the difficulty of the test so that the scores on the graded sections can be standardized from one test to another (they are actually called “equating” sections). I’m not sure why you think they are unfair; these sections do not count for anyone.

You can also easily tell if a section is experimental, if you get either two of the same time of section (two 25min. CR sections, or more than nickst described.)
