<p>I think TOEFL scores don't matter that much, at least not as much as the SAT. Of course, a high TOEFL score (above 280) definitely shows one's English proficiency, and most people who got into HYP and the like usually scored high on TOEFL. However,a high SAT verbal or writing score will make you stand out more as it is harder to achieve.</p>

For the CBT TOEFL, I think you're fine once you're above 250.</p>
