I'm not entirely set on any major. But I feel like if you don't know what you want to do, you'll be behind a semester or a year with how many credits UF requires per major.

What's a good schedule for Summer B and Fall that will allow me to explore options, but not fall behind schedule?

how much of an idea do you have about what you want to do?

i’d recommend hitting the ground running by taking calc, but for all i know you’re leaning towards fine arts.

You should start knocking off your general ed requirements…a math class and a reading/writing class. Umm, not sure exactly what classes you should take since I’m going to be starting in Summer B as well. :3

Oh, I probably should have added that most of my Gen Ed requirements are already fulfilled, thanks to dual enrollment.

Makes it harder, I guess. I’m not transferring though, so I definitely have some wiggle room.

It would help if you gave a general idea science/engineering vs social science. If your not so good in math then you can take algebra/precalc in the summer and then start calc in the fall. if not just start calc in the fall. Take some kind of bio/chem. You probably wont have both your diversity and international credits done so you can take a fun elective that fills those ie: greek myth or US relgious history.

All in all. Summer should look like a couple classes. Maybe math and elective/writing.

Fall should look like Calc(if you need it), Some Science, and a couple fun electives.

On the fun electives, choose what sounds interesting. Look at some online reviews but don’t pick the easiest A classes cause often they are boring. Pick what you think you’ll like. Don’t worry you are not going to be behind. Just make sure you have a general idea by the end of 2nd semester. When you go to preview you go one on one with both a faculty adviser and a student adviser. They walk you right through it. Don’t worry if you don’t like your classes you can change them all the way up to the first week of classes.

Hey Got Big Dreams, for summer B I’m thinking of taking ENC 1101 - Expository and Argumentative Writing…a requirement…

For Fall:
MAC 2311 - Calc
BSC 2009 plus lab - Bio
Beginning or intermediate chinese…depends on the placement test
PHI 3930, which is Chinese Philosophy, I think…not sure.

That last one is in the 3000s, which sounds kind of intimidating. Should I go for it?

Also, do we have have to wait till preview to sign up for classes? When does preview usually happen? o.o

Yeah you cant sign up until preview. you should eventually get some info on preview. Preview goes on all summer and you pick one weekend.

Yeah I said the same thing about my CLT 3370 Greek Myth and the truth is it depends on the teacher. If its something you want to take then go to the first week. gauge the teacher and the intensity of the class. If you think you can handle it then just keep the class. If you think its going to be way too intense, the first week you can add and drop any class you want for free. Just have some back up ideas

The rest sounds good. If you want you can take another class in summer b but make it like a easy elective type class

Thanks! Btw, this is a super specific question, but do you know how long the walk and/or bike ride is from Matherly Hall to Turlington Hall is? :x

10-15(if your walking slow) min walk, 5 min by bike

Dont worry to much about commute from class to class. Every semester i have two classes that are back to back and are on diff sides of the campus. I always make it, and I dont have a bike either.

From Matherly to Turlington its like 7 minutes walking at a fair pace. I walk from Matherly to Turlington everyday.

Use GatorSchedule ([GatorSchedule.Net .:. Course Search](http://www.gatorschedule.net)) to find your gened classes… regardless of major, you’re gonna have to take them.

Maybe add in an intro to x class to see what you like.

3000 doesn’t always mean its tougher than 1000. I would say dont take a 3000 level if you still have to take Comp1101 or w/e. Philosophy might sound kinda like BS but its pretty serious business and if you still have to take comp you might not be ready
