Whats better a 2270 on SAT or 33 on ACT?

I have an 800 on Critical Reading, 670 on Math, and 800 on writing (subscore 80 on MC and 10 on essay). These are my scores from my second testing.

For the ACT I have a 36 on English, 31 on Math, 36 on Reading, and 28 on science (Combined English and Writing is 34, with a subscore of 10 on my essay). This is the only time I took the ACT

I realize my scores are pretty similar if you look at them overall, but do the variations in each section matter? And should I use the ACT since I only took it once?

the real question here is whether a 31 outstrips a 670 on math…but given your scores are so strong overall, I would send both and let the schools sort

A 2270 SAT holds more weight than a 33 ACT (you have a 34 equivalent). But I agree with the above poster that it would be best to send both.

Published equivalency tables indicate they are close, but colleges do not necessarily follow those tables. Some may consider your ACT better, some the SAT and best to send both because college will use that one which it believes is higher.

just a note 80 is not a subscore on the MC its just the writing score without the zero

^ no, it’s the MC subscore. MC subscores are out of 80 points.

Ok thanks everyone

but would it be better just to send the ACT since I only took it once, so it looks better?

SAT is around 80-100 points better SAT equvalently.

ACT = 2180 = 33
