What's better? Dropping a class with a W or ending with a C?

So I’m a 2nd year community college student (in California) and I already applied to all the schools I want to transfer to. I got approved for the UC Irvine TAG and I have enough units to transfer. My major is Bus Econ and all my pre-reqs for my major are done. I’m currently in Calc 4, which isn’t required to transfer. If I go to Irvine, I’ll eventually have to take it since it’s an upper division math course that juniors usually take but I still don’t know what school I’m going to since admissions come out soon. All the other colleges I applied to don’t require the class except for Irvine lol. I’m doing pretty bad right now because my teacher isn’t that good at all that everyone’s pretty much barely passing or failing. If I stayed in the class, I’m expecting to barely pass by with a C, with high hopes, a B- at most. I’m debating on just dropping it with a W and since it’s not too late, replacing the class with a late-start 12week computer class. I already have enough transferable units but will the C in my Calc 4 class make my Irvine tag ineligible? Idk what’s the better choice.

I was under the impression UCI wasn’t allowing Biz majors to TAG anymore… anyhow, generally, a W beats an F.In your case, you need to complete the classes you committed to passing or, they will yank your admission. My guess is that, as long as you have met the requirements and GPA threshold, they will be OK with a C in the class but, it is your future - you should call them and ask what they recommend you do in this circumstance.

OP is tagging for Bus Econ, not the Bus. School. I am guessing if you still meet the minimum GPA even with the C, you are okay. If you were trying to get into the very competitive bus. school at UCI, the C would hurt. You probably want to check with the UCI admissions office regarding the potential C.
