Whats better for medical? MSU or Wayne

Sorry if this is the wrong forums im new here.

Im a junior atm with a good gpa and a really good new sat scores and ive been thinking about college and my future medical career.

Ive recently heard of accredition things about wayne state and im afraid this wont be good but UMich may be too high for me so my two best options are Wayne State University or Michigan State . Ik michigan state is better for undergrad but i heard wayne state is better for medical.

So in your opinion what do you think is better for pursuing a medical degree, Michigan State or Wayne? Please give reasons too

bump its a bit early (not really) but these two are the most reachable to me right now. Really wondering which is better for a medical degree. I hear wayne is larger with a higher mcat score and median gpa

Michigan State is a better choice. Premed is just a set of undergraduate classes you take, there’s nothing 'medical ’ about them - you take biology with biology majors and must be ranked in the top of the class, you take physics with physics majors and must be ranked at the top of the class, etc. Being premed means being in the top 10-20% in a variety of classes.
Wayne State will be good for the next step, medical school.

ah gotcha. Wait so you have to be in the top 10-20% in order to complete premed and go to med school?

Also, if I plan on going to med school, Wayne state would be a better choice ?

Well, if you want a shot at med school, your grades need to reflect the fact you’ve been top 20% (often, top 10%) in every single class and especially science classes. Students who rank below that rarely have a “med-school worthy” GPA/science GPA.
There’s no advantage to attending Wayne State over Michigan State if your goal is med school. Wayne State Med School can be a good goal, but at the college level I’d recommend Michigan state.

Or, you could take the approach that Wayne may be easier and less expensive than MSU, thus saving your money for medical school when you will really need it.

bump i have a question.

Say i go to wayne for premed/undergrad and i do really well and score high on the mcat. Must i attent wayne state med school or can i say transfer to Michigan Med School?

Premed is not a major. And once you get your mcat scores you APPLY to medical schools and hope to get in.
