<p>I want to do go for a semester to Paris and those are the two housing options. If I dorm, I will have more time to myself and could come home late. If I go as an au pair, I will have no housing expenses and will be fed two meals a day. I will also get more French practice and will experience life a French family. Which options have you done and can recommend?</p>
<p>As a general rule, if you spend time abroad and want to improve your language skills, do not stay in a dorm unless you share with francophones.</p>
<p>What are your priorities? If its to improve your French, dont dorm.</p>
