What looks better, a degree from Boston College or one from UMass Amherst's Honors program?

Boston College

UMass-Amherst has a strong Computer Science department. Through the 5-college consortium, students can cross-register for classes at several of the best liberal arts colleges in the country. Plus, for in-state full-pay students, it is much less expensive than BC. In other respects, BC is a stronger undergraduate school (more selective, smaller classes, higher 4-year graduation rate, better aid).

Boston College might look a little better because it has the brand name, but so many smart people go to UMass because of finances that I can’t imagine anyone would look down on it.

It’s not which looks better, It which one feels right to you. Don’t go to Boston College just for the namesake.
