<p>I'm considering going to city college (New York) for my undergraduate degree then going to a grad school.. is this wise? I could get into a really good school with my stats I think but I really want to be in NY and can't afford Parsons most likely(pretty much the only other school in NY with my major)</p>
<p>what is your intended major? Cause when i see parsons i think fashion, and the city definately is not lacking in fashion schools. First one that comes to mind is FIT.</p>

<p>pratt institute in brooklyn new york is extremely strong in architecture.</p>
<p>they give an automatic merit scholaship of like 10k-15K per year, if you graduate high school with a minimum 3.75 gpa.</p>

<p>I live in NYC - don't go, City College is an underfunded mess, don't make the mistake of coming here, even if you go on to grad school, going to CCNY will always make your resume-readers think that you are below average, as for the most part only below average people who didn't care enough to do anything in high school go to this college. </p>
<p>The only CUNY I'd recommend is Baruch, it's not a joke of a school like City College.</p>
<p>Sorry if this is harsh, but you should avoid this college at all costs, especially if you have good stats, the place is an underfunded mess.</p>
<p>Okay, this is something I actually know about. </p>
<p>I know CUNY schools really well, seeing as I live in Brooklyn and nearly everyone I know goes to eather CUNY Hunter, CUNY Brooklyn, or CUNY Baruch.</p>
<p>Baruch is really good for business, finance, accounting, the the like.</p>
<p>Hunter has a really good medical program. The REALLY good thing about Hunter and Baruch alike are the superbbbbb honors programs. I think they're some of the best I've ever seen. I know Hunter's really well. I think the 'honors' varies a bit from school to school, so here's Hunter's program: Full tuition is paid along with free boarding! You recieve a laptop. They give you a great deal of money if you wish to travel abroad. I'm not sure exactly how much, but that's what I've heard. The thing about CUNY honors, is that it's really hard to get into. No matter what people say, even if it's not 'prestigious' it's truly hard as hell. I go to a really good school and I know a lot of people from the graduating class (06) and no one I know got in. One of my friends got into Cornell, BC, BU, and NYU, yet didn't get into Hunter Honors. Maybe I'm playing it up but it's a great program for it's cost (free!) with all the added bonuses. OH, and if you wish not to take up the free room and board, I've heard they give some sort of stipence! Not sure how much but hey, it's something. Pretty cool if you ask me.</p>

<p>Cooper Union in Manhattan has an architecture program, I don't know if they have landscape architecture, though. Free tuition if you can get in, also.</p>
