Like for example for a family of 6 with both parents making around 40,000 to 43,000 considered low income??

Bump bump bump bump

What do you mean low income? Is there some place you read “low income boost for admission”? To those of us on CC is may mean an EFC of 0 meaning you qualify for a full Pell Grant. But why are you asking this question? What are you really trying to get at?

What really matters is whether the net price after applying financial aid is affordable to you at each college.

Assuming you are looking for colleges to apply to, you can check the net price calculators on their web sites to get financial aid estimates.

I would consider that low income but, it depends on the college. Some say under 40,000 or 40,000-50,000. Check with colleges that you want to apply to.
