I’m going to be a senior, if I were to move during December or so, would it still be considered state residency and help get me in at all? Also with my low-to-high grades through freshman to junior and now, going for straight As in 2 APs and the rest of my classes, I heard that could work with California’s highschool grading system… I’m not sure though, if anyone could provide any insight?

I think you need 4 years of residency so that you will be paying 4 years of state tax.

You need 1 year of residency. Most important test is where your parents pay taxes.

What if I'm not living with parents? I'll be 18 by the end of September

You would need to be financially independent, not be claimed on your parents tax returns in their home-state, plus have lived and worked in CA for 1 year prior. Are you paying for your own tuition/board etc.?

I'd be living in an house/apartment with my friend, whichever he buys... I'd pay for my highschool stuff. Wouldn't be claimed on tax afterwards then I think. Does that working mean for a year straight or what?

Nevermind, found everything at: http://www.collegeboard.com/about/association/international/residency.html
