Is the Math IIC of the SAT II easier than the Math Section of the SAT I, or is it the other way around?

If I got a 790 in math on the SAT I, what can I expect on an SAT II, Math IIC?

Around the same, but they ask a wider variety of questions imo. I got 800 on the SAT I for math but I thought Math 2 was harder. I can't really give you an accurate assessment until I get my score back, though.

One's knowledge based, the other is logic based.

they're both quite knowledge based...

the math IIC has much harder questions, but it also has a much more generous curve. If you're good at math, you should do well on both of them

i took math2 lit and bio today but im starting to regret.
im not even strong in math2 and i dont know why i took it.
if UCs recieve my june sat2 scores will they think otherwise?
if i do fairly well in november's bio and korean sat2 i mean. even if i did well on korean and biology, will my lit and math2 from the past effect my admission? please help.

bumpity bump

In general, the Math IIC is easier to get an 800 on than on SAT I Math but the concepts that Math IIC involves are higher lvl than the concepts tested on SAT I Math. The reason that it is harder to get 800 on SAT I Math is because you have to get all of them correct (or in rare cases 1 incorrect and the rest correct) & that it tends to lead testtakers to make errors and is not as straightforward as the MathIIC. In addition, an 800 on MathIIC = the 88%tile while an 800 on SATI Math = 99%tile.

So how can you get an 99%tile in Math IIC?

It's impossible since the curve is nice. In a way you can consider yourself in the 99%tile if you do get 800.

Yeah, I agree with Tiberian. I found that both were relatively easy (770 on SAT I Math and 800 Math IIC), mainly because I like math, but in terms of material, Math IIC covers more and is less logic-based and more straightforward "do it" problems.
Math IIC is really generous in terms of its "curve". I think I missed like 1 or 2, but I believe you can miss up to like 6 and still make an 800. On the SAT I's math portion, most of the time, as Tiberian already said, it will go down if you miss one; however, there are times when 1 missed can be an 800.
One problem I see some people having is the time constraint. Some people either do not finish or rush through. Finally, make sure you know your calculator.

both I thought was easy 790 - SAT I Math, 800 Math IIC

Math IIC - better curve - but could NEVER get to 90 percentile
SAT I Math - BAD curve, but easy to get 99 percentile

but they are SOOOO FAR apart knowledge wise, it's HARD to corolate
