What is up with people hearing already? I thought you did not hear until the 15th and by letter not email. I'm starting to freak out because Fordham is my first choice and I'm worried that since I haven't heard yet that means Im out. I have 96.5 weighted gpa with a 1870 on the sat and 4 ap courses and 4 really great rec letters and a few extra cirriculars. The only thing was I sent my first app in with the wrong graduation year so I had to call them and have it changed, is that going to hurt me?

I don’t think you should worry! Your scores are right where they should be. This is like a new program they are doing. I think the first round of emails got sent out a few weeks ago, but they are still sending them because I just got one last night. Also, they are only sending these emails to some. Meaning the majority of people who ARE accepted will only hear by mail. I don’t think you should worry.

The ones who heard already, according the other threads I’ve seen, are for people who are “the cream of the crop” or exceptional students. No need to worry, your stats look fine and the above poster is right, the majority of students will hear by mail around the
15th.

I dont think that “wrong graduation year” will hurt you, particularly if its clear on your transcript. You called. But I would follow up with a letter immediately, which you can send by fax, then snail mail, which says, “confirming our telephone conversation of December x, 2011, I am graduating from high school in May/June 2012, and am eligible for admission to Fordham University in September 2012. Thank you.”

My daughter got an email last night - it said

“You have been identified as a truly outstanding applicant. Rather than wait until mid-December, we wanted to let you know now that you are going to be offered admission to Fordham University for the Fall 2012 semester.”

They also said that a letter would follow in mid-December.

I assume that any scholarship offers for EA people will come in December… am I right?

Not necessarily. No.

It seems like a lot of people on here heard already via e-mail, I am getting very nervous that everyone who got in was already notified.

Don’t be ridiculous. That is clearly not true.

I have not received any letter either…all of my friends who applied have so i am a little nervous…however, they did call a few days ago to ask a question about my financial aid so that might be a sign… but its not real until its official!

I have not heard a single thing from them. I submitted my financal aid stuff back in October and I have not gotten any calls. I know one person with 2100 SAT and a high GPA who heard back but thats it so far. Everyone else I know who applied has 1800 SATs like me or lower and no one else has heard. I am starting to get really nervous now because the 15th is Thursday. If I get in Im 99% sure it is where Ill be going so I really hope Ill be getting in! Really hoping no letter is not a bad sign!!

still no letter or anything…i’m really starting to get creeped out here lol

accepted :)

i didn’t hear a single thing from them except an email after i submitted my application. just received my letter today saying i got accepted. i applied october 14

i was disappointed to not find a scholarship offer in the letter…anyone know if they came out already or not

Accepted :)
