What's going to happen to me

Ok currently I have 31 credits, I will have 41 by the end of this semester, I worked out the math and figured that I will have 70 credits by the end of next spring. Of the 70 credits, 65 are transferable. The problem is that I am going to be missing Organic Chemistry and the 3 math classes that come after calculus which would be worth 23 credits. I am a chemistry major, and according to assist.org, these classes are mandatory to transfer. I don't even know how to formulate this situation into a real question, but I need some advice, I was planning on going to UC Riverside or UC Davis starting Fall of 2012 over there. I've been at this CC since 2007!

The best thing to do right now is talk to your counselor. Your counselor can actually see your files and classes that you’ve taken and need to take in order to transfer. Good luck!

Andres760, don’t worry too much about your situation. Personally, I believe you should be fine.

Chemistry is not an impacted major at most UCs, and especially for UCD and UCR you would be fine as long as you complete most of your pre-reqs and have a decent GPA. You don’t have to complete every single one of them! If you were going for a very competitive field like engineering that would’ve been a whole different story.

My suggestion is to focus on finishing as many Chem courses as you can (since you’re a chem major) and then try and finish at least up to Calc II

It might also help to speak with a TRANSFER counselor to plan them correctly. However, be very careful (ask around) who you speak to, as some of these counselors are notorious for dishing out wrong info!

…and I’ve been at my CC since fall 2006!!!..if that makes you feel better
