I know a lot of people have been talking about the atmosphere at Dartmouth or just getting into the school, but I was wondering what the town is like. Is it that kind of "classic" New England town or is it something else? Is there barely anything there or are there some cool places to hang out? The more information, the better. :) Thanks.

Last year, Money Magazine voted the town as no. 2 "Best Places to Live" and the link below gives facts about the town. Also, scroll halfway and click on a "Take a tour" to give you a glimpse of Hanover. I personally love Hanover - a quaint and wonderful New England town.

Hanover is a great small town. I wasn't sure how I'd adapt (I'm from a large city), but I've discovered that I really enjoy it. The town has just about anything that you need: restaurants, a couple of stores, a movie theater... There aren't really too many place to hang out per se, but my friends and I usually go to the restaurants once or twice a week and I suppose that counts. Sometimes Dartmouth rents out a restaurant (usually Ramunto's) and hosts an event that it conducive to hanging out (they had a Karaoke night earlier this term). The people in town are really friendly, the townspeople care about Hanover and keep it well maintained and, although it's small, it still has a lot to offer.

Hanover is more than quaint, but certainly not cosmopolitan. Like the campus, it is beautiful and the setting will certainly be a change from Arizona.
