what's important when searching for a job....

I'm a junior economics major at a top 25 school. I have done two internships so far for the same fortune 500 company: finance and internal consulting.

I have a good resume--I have leadership roles, experience, a 3.5 gpa, and I attend a good school. My one flaw is my transcript.....

I have taken accounting classes at community college, I have taken a few courses pass/fail, and I have taken a lot of my "tougher" classes outside of the school that I attend (a neighboring public school).

Is this going to be a problem when I am looking for an internship for next summer? I'm interested in the top finance jobs btw.

just like applying to college, getting a “top” finance position is the same. the recruiter evaluate resume, experience, transcripts, cover letters, networks and conduct an interview. What companies want is value. They need to know if they hire you, you will build value for the company. Everyone applying for a top financial position at the big banks will have good GPA, and decent experience. You need to find out what distinguishes you and how you can help the company grow.

taking courses pass fail ect ect and all that stuff doesn’t matter too much. If you are experienced enough and qualified, im sure you will get an interview
